Dr. Allison Connolly is a co-director of Campbell and Fairweather Psychology Group and is experienced in the assessment and treatment of adults with anxiety and mood disorders, traumatic and critical incident stress, mental health and physical health comorbidities, loss and family of origin issues. For Dr. Connolly, it is important to tailor to client needs while maintaining an evidence-based approach. Dr. Connolly has a warm and genuine style and maintains a validating, collaborative stance in her treatment. As a psychologist she aims to help clients see the “why” behind their struggles, getting alongside them to promote helpful change.

Dr. Connolly received her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. She also served on the board of ethics for the Psychological Society of Ireland and previously taught at the postgraduate university level at Trinity College Dublin. Her doctoral research focused on emotion-focused therapy for women with breast cancer, a research endeavor she pursued while working as a Hospital Psychologist, supporting patients and their families at all stages of the cancer journey. Prior to joining Campbell & Fairweather, she provided psychological services for patients with chronic pain at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Dr. Connolly has also co-authored a number of research publications in the areas of counselling psychology, psychotherapy process, emotion-focused therapy, and psycho-oncology. She has provided training, doctoral supervision and consultation to clinicians in Emotion Focused Therapy. Dr. Connolly regularly conducts academic peer review for journal articles submitted for publication in psychotherapy journals. She also has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of law enforcement personnel, military forces personnel, military veterans, injured workers, and on providing services for various rehabilitation agencies in support of return-to-work planning. Dr. Connolly is registered to practice in the Province of British Columbia (#2436).
