Licensed Psychologist

Location: Victoria

Licence Number: 2842

As a clinical psychologist, I provide assessment and psychotherapy to help individuals and couples with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, (PTSD), complex trauma, grief and living fully with illness. My approach is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Mindfulness-based somatic therapies. I try to be present, curious and support people to explore their emotions, needs and longings with compassion as we work through stuck points and blocks, to discover strengths, sources of connection and joy. I’m continually learning and growing my skills as an EFT therapist and supervisor. It is a true honour to get to work with a diverse range of people of all abilities, sexual orientations and gender identities. I am committed to life-long learning in cultural humility as a foundation for building trust and safety together.

I have experience working within a range of community mental health, hospital and prison settings, in addition to a background working as a nursing auxiliary in in-patient settings (psychiatric hospitals, cancer and hospice care). I completed my Masters degree in Health Psychology at the University of West England Bristol, UK, where my research explored people’s experiences of holistic cancer care. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical and Community Psychology at the University of Exeter, UK, where my published research explored how mindfulness can improve the relationships of people living with chronic depression i.e. when we’re able to be present with our own joyful and painful emotion, we can “relate mindfully” to others, leading to a greater sense of connection and joy. I have led numerous Anxiety, Depression and Anger Management groups, as well as Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness open groups for people in community mental health clinics in the UK and Nova Scotia. In recent years I’ve enjoyed ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing as well as EFT supervision, which I integrate into therapy where useful.

Please note: I am registered to provide services to first responders, military personnel and veterans via Veterans Affairs/Blue Cross.
